Services and Events in our Churches over the next two weeks
On Sunday 14th June 2026 it is Trinity 2 and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside, followed at 12.45pm by a Baptism service;
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Vanessa; and
At 3.00pm in Meldyke Square outside the Stainton Memorial Hall there will be the 2026 Stainton Big Sing. Everyone is welcome to gather at the Memorial Hall in Stainton Village at 3.00 pm. This will be led by Revd Laura Wild, our Vicar, and Revd David Godfrey, Methodist Minister, and supported by the Marske Junior Band who have been invited to accompany the singing.

The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Trinity 2 are
- Exodus 19:2-8a
- Psalm 100
- Romans 5:1-8
- Matthew 9:35-10:8
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 2 will be given by the Rt Revd Dr Eleanor Sanderson, Bishop of Hull. Bishop Eleanor reflects on the Gospel passage set for that day (Matthew 9:35-10:8). The Reflection can be found at this link.
On Monday 15th June 2026 at 6.30pm in Stainton Church Parish Room; there will be the second session of our seven-week “Bereavement Journey”.
On Tuesday 16th June 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 17th June 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.
On Saturday 20th June 2026 at 10.00am to 12.00noon at Brookfield Church there will be a Charity Coffee Morning.
On Saturday 20th June 2026 at 2.00pm to 5.00pm you are invited to the Hilton Open Gardens event. At least eight gardens will be open to the public in aid of St. Peter’s Church, Hilton. Tickets (£10) will be for sale at the church from 1.30-4.00pm on the day and include tea and cake at one of the houses. Admission is free for wheelchair users, their carers and children under 13. The ticket (to be shown at each property) will include a map showing which gardens are open.

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Baptism led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Priest, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside; and
At 4.00pm at Brookfield Church the first of our fortnightly “Church Family at 4” services on the theme of “Light” led jointly by Revd Laura and Revd Vanessa.

- Jeremiah 20:7-13
- Psalm 69:8-20
- Romans 4:13-end
- Matthew 10:24-39
