Services and Events in our Churches over the next four weeks

On Sunday 12th July 2026 it is Trinity 6 and we celebrate Recognise Sunday when we praise God for all who are involved in Children’s Ministry - there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Priest, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside; and
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong to celebrate Sea Sunday led by Revd Laura.
The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Trinity 6 are
- Isaiah 55:10-13
- Psalm 65: 1-13
- Romans 8:1-11
- Matthew 13.1–9, 18–23
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 6 will be given by the Rt Revd Barry Hill, our Bishop of Whitby. Bishop Barry reflects on the Gospel passage – the Parable of the Sower - set for that day (Matthew 13:1-9,18-23). The Reflection can be found at this link.
On Monday 13th July 2026 at 6.30pm in Stainton Church Parish Room; there will be the sixth session of our seven-week “Bereavement Journey”.
On Tuesday 14th July 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering19
On Wednesday 15th July 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.
On Saturday 18th July 2026 at 10.00am to 12.00noon in Brookfield Church Hall there will be a Charity Coffee Morning in aid of our local Middlesbrough-based Children’s charity BiGKIDS.

On Sunday 19th July 2026 it is Trinity 7 and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church an All-Age Communion service at which our Pioneer Priest, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will preside; and
At 4.00pm at Brookfield Church our “Church Family at 4” service on the theme “Jesus the Shepherd”
The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Trinity 7 are:
- Wisdom of Solomon 12:13,16-19
- Psalm 86:11-17
- Romans 8:12-25
- Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 7 will be given by the Most Revd and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell, our Archbishop of York. Archbishop Stephen will reflect on the Gospel passage set for that day (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43). The Reflection can be found at this link from about the Thursday before that Sunday.
On Monday 20th July 2026 at 6.30pm in Stainton Church Parish Room; there will be the seventh and last session of our seven-week “Bereavement Journey”.
On Tuesday 21st July 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church; there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 22nd July 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Vanessa.

On Tuesday 28th July 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church; there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 29th July 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

On Sunday 2nd August 2026 it is Trinity 9 and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our guest Priest, the Venerable John Day, Diocesan Growing Healthy Churches Adviser, will preside;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Priest, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a Café Church service of informal worship, discussions, quizzes and simple refreshments, led by Stainton Churchwarden Vernon Clare; and
At 4.00pm at Brookfield Church our “Church Family at 4” service on the theme “Jesus the Bread (of life)” led by Revd Laura and Revd Vanessa.

- Isaiah 55:1-5
- Psalm 145:8-9, 15-22
- Romans 9:1-5
- Matthew 14:13-21

On Tuesday 4th August 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church; there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 5th August 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

At 09.30am (note the unusual time of) 10.30am at Brookfield Church a Church Family Together Holy Communion service at which our Pioneer Priest, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.
