Our Church Services

Services and Events in our Churches over the next four weeks

On Sunday 20th July 2025 – Trinity 5 there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise, led by Revd Marie Edwards

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a “Breakfast Church” service of informal worship with discussions, quizzes and simple refreshments, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. [Editor’s note: there will NOT be Holy Communion at this service];

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby.

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 5 (Proper 11) are:

  • Genesis 18:1-10a
  • Psalm 15
  • Colossians 1:15-28
  • Luke 10:38-42

The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 5 is given by the Revd Dr Ian McIntosh, Diocesan Director of Mission and Ministry. Ian reflects on the Gospel reading set in the Lectionary (Luke 10:38-42); you can find the Reflection at this link.

 

On Tuesday 22nd July 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 23rd July 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church; there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

On Sunday 27th July 2025 – Trinity 6 – there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Vanessa will preside

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will preside; and

At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Laura.

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 6 (Proper 12) are:

  • Genesis 18:20-32
  • Psalm 138
  • Colossians 2:6-15
  • Luke 11:1-13

On Monday 28th July 2025 at 2.00pm at Brookfield Church (Hall) there is the fifth and last session of our fortnightly Plurality Bible Study “Companions on our Journey” when we shall be looking at David. These study sessions are open to anyone from any of the three Churches in our Plurality, will last about one hour, and will be led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild.

On Tuesday 29th July 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 30th July 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion

On Sunday 3rd August 2025 – Trinity 7 there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will preside;

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Vanessa will preside; and

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a “Café Church” service of informal worship with discussions, quizzes and simple refreshments led by Revd Laura. [Editor’s note: there will NOT be Holy Communion at this service];

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 7 (Proper 13) are:

  • Ecclesiastes 1:2, 12-14 and 2:18-23
  • Psalm 49:1-12
  • Colossians 3:1-11
  • Luke 12:13-21

At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Vanessa.

  • Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16
  • Luke 12:32-40
