Services and Events in our Churches over the next two weeks
On Sunday 16th November 2025 – the 2nd Sunday before Advent (it is also Diocesan Safeguarding Sunday) – there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister.
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church an informal Breakfast Church service to celebrate St Margaret, Queen of Scotland whose Feast Day it is. There will be discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. [Editor's note: There will NOT be Holy Communion at this service].
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby will preside.
The lessons set in the Lectionary for 2nd before Advent are:
- Malachi 4:1-2a
- Psalm 98
- 2 Thessalonians 3:1-13
- Luke 21:5-19

On Tuesday 18th November 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 19th November 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

On Sunday 23rd November 2025 – the Sunday next before Advent / Christ the King and which, we in our Plurality, celebrate as Safeguarding Sunday there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Revd Laura, will also preside.
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Laura.

On Friday 28th November 2025 at 4.00pm until 6.00pm there will be the Opening of the Nativity Festival at Brookfield Church.
On Saturday 29th November 2025 at 10.00am until 12.00 noon there will be the Brookfield Church Christmas Fayre.
On Saturday 29th November 2025 at 2.00pm until 4.00pm at Brookfield Church the Nativity Festival will be open for viewing.

On Sunday 30th November 2025 we begin a new year in the Church calendar (Year A) which runs through Advent 2025 until the Sunday before Advent 2026
On Sunday 30th November 2025 – Advent Sunday – there will be a single morning service, one of our "5th Sunday Special" Plurality Holy Communion services at 10.30am at Stainton Church, at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild and Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby will preside jointly. This will be our annual Toy / Gift Service at which we shall welcome the donation of UNWRAPPED gifts which will be passed on to a local charity for them to give to needy families who would otherwise not have any gifts to open on Christmas Day. [Editor’s note: There will NOT be a morning service at Hilton Church or at Brookfield Church that day].
On Sunday 30th November 2025 at Brookfield Church from 4.30pm to 5.30pm the Nativity Festival will be open for viewing, followed by …
On Sunday 30th November 2025 at 5.30pm there will be the Close of Nativity Festival service at Brookfield Church when we will sing Christmas carols and announce the winning Nativity with the most votes and …. more refreshments will be served!
