Services and Events in our Churches over the next two weeks

On Sunday 14th December 2025 – Advent 3 (also known as Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday) – there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion.
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion.
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong.
The lessons set in the Lectionary for Advent 3 are:
- Isaiah 35:1-10
- Psalm 146:4-10
- James 5:7-10
- Matthew 11:2-11
The Diocesan Reflection for the Advent 3 will be given by the Venerable Andy Broom, Archdeacon of the East Riding. Archdeacon Andy reflects on the Gospel passage set for Advent 3 (Matthew 11:2‑11). You can find the Reflection at this link shortly.
On Monday 15th December 2025 at 2.00pm for one hour at Brookfield Church there will be the third session of our Plurality Bible Study “Nativity Extras”, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild.
On Tuesday 16th December 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.
On Tuesday 16th December 2025 at 7.00pm in the Stainton Memorial Hall there will be the annual Stainton Village Carol Service.
On Wednesday 17th December 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister (ALM).
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion.
At 11.00am at Stainton Church an informal service of Coffee and Carols led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. [Editor's note: There will NOT be Holy Communion at this service]. If you will be attending this service, we would love to seeing you wearing your best Christmas Jumper/Outfit!
At 4.00pm at Brookfield Church a Christingle Service. If you will be attending this service, we would love to seeing you wearing your best Christmas Jumper/Outfit!

On Wednesday 24th December 2025 at 4.00pm at Stainton Church there will be a Crib service.
On Thursday 25th December 2025 – Christmas Day there will be celebration services of Holy Communion for Christmas as follows:
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church.
