Services and Events in our Churches over the next four weeks
On Sunday 14th July 2024 – Trinity 7 – there will be services of Holy Communion in our Churches as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service at which our Vicar will also preside; and
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.
The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 7 are:
- Amos 7:7-15
- Psalm 85:8-13
- Ephesians 1:3-14
- Mark 6:14-29
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 7 is given by the Venerable Sam(antha) Rushton, Archdeacon of York. Archdeacon Sam reflects on the use and abuse of power as shown in the beheading of John the Baptist as told in the Gospel set for Trinity 7 (Mark 6:14-29); you can find the Reflection at this link.
On Tuesday 16th July 2024 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 17th July 2024 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

On Sunday 21st July 2024 – Trinity 8 – there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Revd Marie Edwards;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a “Breakfast Church” service of informal worship and fellowship on the theme “Jesus sends us out”, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild [Editor’s note: there will not be Holy Communion at this service]; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service Holy Communion at which the Revd Marie Edwards and our Vicar Revd Laura will preside jointly.,

- Jeremiah 23:1-6
- Psalm 23
- Ephesians 2:11-end
- Mark 6:30-34, 53-end

On Wednesday 24th July 2024 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

On Sunday 28th July 2024 – Trinity 9 – there will be a single Joint (Plurality) service of Holy Communion at 10.30am at Hilton Church at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby will preside.
Note: There will NOT be a service at Stainton Church or at Brookfield Church on that day.

- Psalm 145:10-19
- Ephesians 3:14-21
- John 6:1-21

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Marie Edwards will preside; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a “Café Church” service of informal worship and fellowship on the theme “Jesus – Living bread”, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild [Editor’s note: there will not be Holy Communion at this service].

- Exodus 16:2-4, 9-15
- Psalm 78:23-29
- Ephesians 4:1-16
- John 6:24-35
